Radiance Mythic

This guide assumes you are familiar with the Heroic version of the fight. As such, I won't discuss how Heroic mechanics work, and will focus exclusively on the Mythic mechanics, changes, and strategy. If you need a refresher on Heroic mechanics, please visit the Heroic version of this boss's guide.

Mythic Changes

  • The only actual difference mechanically on Mythic is that 2 Stormwraiths spawn, and each has an Eye of the Storm around it. Both need to be killed

  • All other abilities just hit harder

Strategy

  • Recommended comp - 2 tank, 4 heal, 14 DPS

  • Split the raid into 2 groups, one on the North side of the platform, one on the South. Half the raid at each

    • This helps spread the Arcanados

  • Tide Fist requires tank swaps after each hit

  • Unshackled Power now hits significantly harder. Cast at 0:12, then every about 18 seconds. Healers just need to be aware of the cast. This now deals 208k damage, up from 120k. Don’t panic after this goes off, as there isn’t any other immediate raid damage, meaning healers have time to catch up. Just make sure the raid is topped off beforehand

  • Handle Arcane Bombs & Arcanados like Heroic - don’t get hit by bad things

  • As Phase 2 begins, each group is responsible for killing 1 Stormwraith. Choose a direction (clockwise or counterclockwise) for the groups to always move, that way you’ll never have to call which group is going to which Stormwraith

  • Nuke the Stormwraith, handle the rest of the P2 mechanics like heroic, and when both Stormwraiths are dead the phase ends

    • The little Stormling adds need their Chain Lightning casts interrupted

  • Use raid CDs as needed during the Storm phase

  • Recommend lust on pull

  • Rinse/repeat

Tank-Specific Tips

  • While tanking Radiance, if you get hit by an Arcanado and knocked back, the boss will immediately turn and punch the next highest threat, usually the other tank. This is bad, since that tank will have a stack of Tidefist, and it’s very possible this could 1 shot a tank who isn’t expecting a random 400k melee

  • Phase 2 is extremely high tank damage. The Stormwraith and Stormling adds do “melee,” but the actual damage you take is classified as MAGIC. Your armor and any AM that reduces physical damage will not do anything against these mobs. Utilize whatever tools you have to reduce magic damage taken, and coordinate with your healers for external CDs. Save your personals for this phase as well.
