For this encounter, we've included two extra sections - a small Delirium Tips section with extra info about being in that phase, and also a detailed timeline of the scripting of the fight. The intent of the timeline is to allow you the ability of preplanning different aspects of the fight, and understanding the flow.

Mythic Changes

  • Surprise surprise, everything hits harder

    • Dread dispels are now actually very dangerous and require healer CDs

  • Specific timings for phase pushes have a major impact, more on that in a bit

    • This fight is completely scripted, and being too early/late with push timings drastically affects the rest of the fight. The timings listed generally give the most forgiving overall setup

  • In phase 4, Dark Pulse is replaced with Psychotic Split

    • Instead of popping the bubble on Za’qul, two adds spawn, one in the Fear Realm, one in the Delirium Realm

    • When both adds die, the bubble pops

    • You have 24 seconds to kill the adds

  • Crushing Grasp now spawns 3 tentacles, each of which will fly forward from their portal twice in quick succession. 

    • You’ll need to rotate the raid accordingly to prevent people from being hit

    • When possible, tanks should move Za’qul close to the first tentacle portal, and when the 2nd portal becomes visible position Za’qul on the opposite side of the first portal from where the 2nd portal is

    • By doing this, the raid has a safe spot to stand for all 3 tentacles

 

Mythic Strategy

  • Recommended Comp - 2 tanks, 4 heals, 14 DPS

  • Phase 1 - 100% - 85%

    • Phase 1 remains largely the same as Heroic, with everything being more dangerous. 

    • You’ll get a Dread cast at 0:15 and 1:25. You’ll want at least 1, if not 2 healing CDs for each

    • Dodge Tentacles

    • Push Timing

      • Importantly, you do not want to nuke the boss and push out of P1 quickly. The target push timing is 1:40, immediately after the Tentacles spawn. If you push before the tentacles spawn, timings the rest of the fight get thrown off, making the encounter more difficult

      • DPS the boss down to 88% or so. From that point on, allow classes with long ramp-up times to continue their rotation as necessary, and everyone else stops on boss. Raid leader should call for a nuke and aim to push the boss for 1:40

      • It’s likely your raid will have to stop all DPS for 20-30 seconds to avoid pushing too early. Just dance, set up toys, etc to entertain yourselves. Still don’t get hit by tentacles

    • Kill off the Summoners when they spawn. 

  • Phase 2 - 85% - 70%

    • With this push timing, a Maddening Eruption should spawn as your transitioning into P2. Tanks make sure to drag Za’qul into it. 

    • Phase 2 there isn’t really too much going on to worry about, nuke the boss and push him through the phase quickly

    • People affected by Manifest Nightmares should drop the puddles near the edges of the room. Dropping near the raid is fine, just move to the edge of the available space

    • Kill the little buggers

    • Continue dodging the big tentacles

    • You’ll likely push out of P2 between 2:18 and 2:28

      • Tanks need to focus on  Za’qul’s positioning, and make sure he isn’t facing directly into the outer swirls of the room. As the transition to P3 occurs, Delirium’s Descent is cast immediately

    • DPS should be using CDs in P2 during the damage amps

  • Phase 3 - 70% - 50%

    • Assign three strong DPS who are good at dodging tentacles to take Delirium portals in this phase

      • You’ll need 2 sets of 3 DPS

      • These players should try to remain in the Delirium realm as long as possible

      • Players with immunities that can drop the stacking debuff preferable. If you send all ranged, this can be a good time to let your fire mages go down.

    • You’ll have a Dread go off at about 2:45. Again, have healer CDs for this

    • At roughly 3:00, a set of big tentacles will spawn, along with a Delirium’s Descent

      • Tanks need to be aware of what direction the tentacles are spawning, and face the Descent in a safe direction

    • Manifest Nightmares should again be dropped near the edges of the room

    • Goal push timing is between 3:28-3:35. Pushing before 3:40 is essential. You have exactly 2 minutes from the time you start Phase 2 to get into Phase 4 before the raid gains an 8th stack of Hysteria

      • If you fail this check, the raid’s Hysteria stacks will not fall off before the first Manic Dread comes out about 15 seconds into Phase 4, which should be roughly 3:50ish

      • This’ll likely cause a very quick wipe

  • Phase 4 - 50% - Dead

    • As the phase starts, tanks should move the boss to the middle of the room. This makes several early mechanics easier to handle

      • First, it gives Manic Dread targets more room to position, and allows the puddles to be dropped closer to the boss. This lets your Delirium Team 1 get to the puddles faster

      • Second, it makes it easier on the tanks to move the boss to a Summoner when they spawn

    • Summoners spawn at about 4:05. The entire raid, minus Delirium Strike Team 1, should take Fear portals into the Fear realm and kill the Summoners

      • Only kill 2 of the 3 Summoners right away. Kill the one closest to the boss, then kill the one closest to wherever the Maddening Eruption spawns

      • Leave the 3rd Summoner alive 

    • Use Bloodlust 5 seconds before the first Maddening Eruption of the phase explodes

    • Assign 2 Delirium strike teams of 4 players

      • Shadow priest can be a part of both teams. Outside of that, have different people for each group

        • All people in strike teams should save CDs, 2nd pot, etc for when they’re killing the Echo adds

      • Team 1 will take the puddles from Manic Dread and go into the Delirium Realm around 4:30-4:35. Classes with more survivability can go down slightly earlier.

        • It’s extremely important that Team 1 does NOT go into the Fear realm to fight Summoners, as they cannot afford stacks of Hysteria before entering Delirium Realm

    • First Psychotic Split will occur around 4:50. The entire raid except Delirium Team 1 kills the Fear add, Team 1 kills the Delirium add. 

    • At around 5:15-5:20, second Manic Dread is cast. Immediately after dispels are done, the entire raid should go into the Normal realm to allow Hysteria stacks to drop, roughy 5:20-5:25

      • As soon as Hysteria stacks drop, everyone except Delirium Strike Team 2 goes back into the Fear realm and kills the final Summoner

    • You then get about 50 seconds to just nuke the boss, with not a lot going on except dodging tentacles

    • Delirium Strike Team 2 should enter Delirium around 6:25-6:30. 

    • You’ll then have a Manic Dread around 6:30. Personal defensives are great here

    • Second Psychotic Split occurs around 6:35, so Strike Team 2 needs to be in Delirium and ready to nuke by then

    • While you’re nuking the 2nd set of Echo adds, a Maddening Eruption will explode around 6:42-6:45. Tanks need to have the boss pre-positioned on this Eruption before the Echo adds spawn

      • (Side note: This damage amp will persist after the Echos are defeated, so depending on the speed you take them down it can be a good time for your final set of cooldowns)

    • Once both Echos die, nuke the boss. Continue dodging Tentacles

    • You’ll have summoners spawn after the Echos. Kill the closest to you to reduce the number of small adds, then finish boss

    • A final Manic Dread comes out around 7:45. Survive that and finish off the boss, GGs

  • Delirium Realm tips

    • Shadow priests are beyond broken

    • Always send all your shadow priests

    • I repeat, shadow is broken

    • Outside of Shadow Priests, classes with immunities perform very well down here, as full immunities clear your debuff stacks, therefore allowing more time in the Delirium Dealm.

      • Example - Mages and Ice Block

    • If you send down classes with passive cleave, be aware they don’t pair well with melee. Ex - Fire mage might not be best in Delirium with a melee, because ignite will melt faces

    • Make sure to dodge the small red tentacles in Delirium. You want to stay in the realm as long as possible, getting hit is counter-productive and your raid leader with both yell and laugh at you
